About US

What kind of world will you create?

Over 20 million Americans suffer from substance use disorders, and in the next year, an estimated 16 million adults will experience at least one major depressive episode. But we don’t have to accept these statistics as inevitable. At WellScreen™, we are committed to creating a world where fewer people struggle with behavioral health conditions.

Our Values

  • QUALITY – The best available science informs everything we offer.
  • TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE – We believe in the power of individuals to transform lives, and we support this transformation at both the system and community levels.
  • SERVICE – We go above and beyond for our employees, clients, partners, and communities.
  • INTEGRITY – We are genuine, honest, ethical, and fair.

Our Beginning

Our team first recognized the potential of the SBIRT protocol while developing an online SBIRT tool for United Way of Broward County and The Miami Coalition. Through this project and others we witnessed how screening and early intervention could change lives. This inspired us to enhance our technology and create WellScreen™.

From the start, our goals for WellScreen were clear:

  • Ease of use – So a wide range of professionals, from physicians and nurses to social workers and program managers, could adopt it.
  • Ease of reporting – So clients could quickly measure and demonstrate impact.
  • Affordability – So WellScreen could be used universally, like checking a patient’s temperature or blood pressure.

Who We Serve

Healthcare providers, school districts, community colleges, youth programs, child welfare agencies, and justice programs use WellScreen to identify and intervene with youth and adults at risk of behavioral health conditions.

Our Collaborators

Through our partnerships, we bring high-quality, evidence-based tools to our clients.

The Brief Opioid Overdose Knowledge (BOOK©) assessment was developed and tested by Kelly Dunn, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. BOOK is fully integrated into WellScreen. We are the only online wellness technology to include BOOK.

WellScreen's Treatment Finder feature was developed in partnership with the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP). The Treatment Finder offers a curated treatment provider database that allows WellScreen to match and connect patients with high quality addiction treatment resources.

Our Founder, Keri-Lyn Coleman, MSW

Keri-Lyn Coleman, MSW is a former White House Drug Policy Advisor and National Substance Abuse Expert. She has twenty years of experience in the field of substance use prevention and behavioral health promotion. Since Keri-Lyn has worked at the community, state and national levels, she appreciates the complexity of her client's biggest challenges.

Today Keri-Lyn designs and develops customized data systems to support the work of substance abuse prevention programs and behavioral health initiatives at the local, regional and state levels.

Over the past decade, Keri-Lyn has provided valuable evaluation, strategic planning, and fundraising assistance to non-profit organizations, corporations, coalitions, state agencies, and communities throughout the United States. Keri-Lyn previously served as the Acting Administrator for the Drug-Free Communities Support Program (DFCSP) at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). While at ONDCP, she chaired the Public Awareness Work Group and served on the Executive Committee for the First Lady's Helping America's Youth Initiative. Through this work she was responsible for funding over 700 substance abuse prevention coalitions. She traveled the country to meet with, and become inspired by, community leaders who were working to create healthier, drug-free communities.

Prior to working for the White House, Keri-Lyn was a Presidential Management Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. At the local level, she has developed and implemented alcohol and drug prevention programs.
